Live/Wire is The AC/DC Show. The unique six-man tribute to rock music’s greatest band AC/DC, complete with cannons, a wall of Marshalls’ and over two hours of High Voltage Rock ‘n’ Roll.

The AC/DC story is over forty years in the making, with two specific eras and the band cover both these as always with both ‘Dave’ Bon Scott and ‘Podge’ Brian Johnson present to take you on the Rock and Roll train for a night to remember.

Originally fronting AC/DC was legendary front man Bon Scott, a wild man of rock and roll, whose untimely death shocked the World in 1980. This event came at a time when the Band were sampling global success for the first time. Dave delivers songs from the Band’s first half dozen albums from Dirty Deeds to Highway to Hell with Bon’s inimitable attitude, style and charisma.

Podge then dons the flat cap as Geordie vocalist, Brian Johnson, whom AC/DC turned to in order to fill the void left by Bon. Brian’s searing vocals Iced Back in Black, one of the best-selling rock albums of all time! Brian has been the voice of AC/DC for well over thirty years and like a good wine he’s matured with age. Podge brings the Live/Wire show bang up to date with classic ‘Brian’ songs and includes some tracks from AC/DC’s recent and hugely successful new album, Rock or Bust.

The thundering freight train of a rhythm section keep it all meticulously together with Dan as the metronomic Malcolm Young on Rhythm Guitar, Ed as Cliff Williams on Bass Guitar, and the Monster behind the Drums Ash as Phil Rudd and Chris Slade rolled into one.

With the Rhythm section ‘locked in’ the freedom of the stage and the music is given to Simon as Angus Young who gives an uncanny performance with meticulous detail in appearance, energy and his note for note heartfelt renditions. Simon honed his craft over many years and is an absolute livewire during his two-hour Axe fettling duck-walking extravaganza of bedevilled Rock and Roll.

The band aim to put you slap bang in the middle of the show with hit after hit, and you are expected to join in!

There’ll also be one or two gems thrown in for the aficionados! We’d be hung, drawn and quartered if we didn’t play all the classics and Back in Black, Rosie and Highway to hell are all there, the songs keep on coming until the cannons fire ceremoniously to bring the evening to a superb crescendo. If by this time you are still standing…we salute you! Long Live AC/DC, Long Live LIVE/WIRE and the AC/DC Show !

Engine room are an energetic four piece Rock covers Band from Somerset.

Influenced by bands such as AC/DC , Jimi Hendrix ,ZZtop , The cult , Guns n Roses, and many more the band enjoy bringing their cover versions of these artists to the local pub and festival scene. Since coming on the circuit a few years ago they have built up a large following of dedicated and loyal fans who follow them to the venues they play.

The band originally put together by guitarist Mike McGovern and Bassist Jon Arnold were shortly joined by lead vocalist Nicholas “tommy” Thompson and together as the backbone of the band have put a strong and structured set list together constantly adding new numbers to give their audience a varied and enjoyable experience.

Guitarist , Mike McGovern , previously in Kent based band “Deuce” , is one of the few guitarists who manages to control the Lead and rhythm guitar in such a fluent professional manner , from hard hitting riffs to intricate solos his technique is flawless. With over 35 years on the circuit his passion for playing live is still as strong as ever.

Jon Arnold , once with “Fractured Mirror and Viktim “ , applied his trade in Oxfordshire and Berkshire in the late 80s , playing hard hitting Bass in the Rock Pubs .” Now playing in Engine room , the styles and type of music we play are more varied and challenging”.

Nic “Tommy” Thompson , is thrilled to be involved as lead vocalist in the band ,quoted as saying it had always been a dream to sing in a rock band and now its a reality ! once a highly successful Elvis Presley Tribute act ,tommy has an amazing range of vocal prowess , with an amazing quick wit and great sense of humour ,often changing lyrics for the occasion or just for fun , tommy is a great front man.

Drums : At present the band uses two drummers , Dan fudge and Jay Robertson . both these drummers are such talented musicians who rotate the gigs accordingly to their prior commitments and availability.

Chris (Vocals and Guitar) and Kev (Banjo, Melodica, Vocals) first played together in rowdy ska-punkateers Bucket* where they shared their love of cider, road movies and celebrity baiting. After a few years it was felt that perhaps they were ‘too old’ for punk and they turned their attention to the next logical musical step for white trash: country. Kev picked up a banjo and having long been fans of Johnny Cash, they began playing some of his songs along with other country and bluegrass numbers before beginning to work on their own compositions. They named the band after a variation on the snakebite drink (instead of cider and beer, three different ciders together).

As the sound developed they realized that something was missing, a fellow cider drinking troubadour who could complete the sound. That was Ben who joined on cello, simultaneously filling the roles of bassist and fiddle with a unique twist.

In 2015 they release their debut album “The Gentlemen’s Kitchen” (available on bandcamp) and they are now working on their second.

Who are we?

The Silver Monkey are 3 multi-instrumentalists who have been playing together for a year. The band is made up of Joshy Bohun (drums), Ryan Mobley (bass) and Hatty Bohun (guitar), although they take turns on all instruments. Joshy’s main inspiration is Bob Dylan, Ryan was inspired by The Who and Hatty is massively influenced by The Beatles. All 3 of them have been raised on music but are mainly self-taught since they were 13 years old.

They play a mixture of genres from Bob Dylan to Oasis to The Cranberries.

Their name, The Silver Monkeys, is inspired firstly by the village their first gig was at Monksilver and secondly by The Beatles original name, The Silver Beatles.

And they are very excited to be performing for you!
